Walk 4 Starting from the
Village Hall proceed up the road passing the Telephone Box on your left and at
the T junction, go straight across keeping the red brick house (Hillside) to your right.
Continue up the narrow path (way marked as a footpath) and know as Dragons Lane to
reach a kissing gate.

Go through the gate and
keeping hedge and farm buildings on your left and continue through field until
you reach a gate onto the road. Just
before this gate turn right through a metal gate signposted
footpath and continue with the field hedge on your left for about 100 mtrs until you reach a stile. From
here are panoramic views to the west and to Dartmoor
in the south. Cross the stile go down steps and turn right along the road
using the grass verge for about 100 mtrs. Just past Johns Park bear right onto a short
track that leads to a gate (waymarked) into a field. Go through and keeping the hedge on your
left continue through two fields to reach a small gate and a stile close
together, pass through the gate and over the stile. Turn right along the road (Take
great care as you emerge onto the road as it’s a blind bend). Immediately
before the bridge over the river Okement turn right into a lane. After about 50 mtrs pass over a stile. With the river on your left
pass through two small fields to reach a kissing gate. The
river bank is home to a wide variety of wild flowers and trees. This route is noted for a wonderful display
of Snowdrops usually at their best Mid February and daffodils in late March. Follow
the waymarker and continue diagonally across the
field to reach a small stile visible at the edge of the wood. Cross over the stile and continue on a clear
path to reach another small gate pass through and ahead to reach a field gate
pass through and cross the lane and follow the waymarkers
through a small metal gate. Keep the
hedge boundary on your left and follow until hedge turns sharp left go straight
across field to reach a gate on to the road.
Turn right along the road and follow to T junction, turn right and
follow the road back to Exbourne.
